Short description
Clanhold is a pixel-art real-time strategy game about raising a village into a walled city in an endless, darkening world — with mages, runes and horses you have to earn, not train. Play alone, or share a world with a friend that stands whether either of you is in it.
Long description
Clanhold is a real-time strategy game built for the long game. Pick a clan — Humans, Orcs or Elves — start with a hall and a few workers, and keep your hold for hours: gather gold, lumber, stone and iron, raise farms that become homesteads, and watch villagers move in, live their days and wear the paths that become your roads.
The world is endless, and the further you push from home the harder it gets. Camps send raids at your hold; enemy towns run their own economies behind their own ramparts, scout you, and march war bands sized to your army. At night the darkness closes in and the unquiet rise on unlit ground — torches and lit windows are a wall of their own.
The strongest things in Clanhold are earned, not trained. Mages are Gifted units awakened with a scroll carried out of an Elder Ruin. Runestones must be wrested from their wardens and held with a shrine. Horses are tamed one by one from wild herds. Iron comes from hills you have to take and keep.
Command named armies with posts, stances and formations; climb your walls and towers from timber to stone; bring rams, because swords barely scratch stone. And share a standing world with a friend — as allies or rivals — saved on a server, where nothing happens to your hold while you are away.
Clanhold is drawn in 8×8-texel pixel art, top-down with three-quarter buildings, lit by a real day-and-night cycle, and scored by a procedural soundtrack that follows the game.
